Before starting a small business, make sure you know the business can be profitable.

Starting a small business is more than creating a great product or service
Many small business owners make the mistake of believing if they have a solid product or service they will have a successful business. Simply having a product or service to offer is not enough to have a successful small business. A profitable entrepreneur must be able to sell their products and services. Marketing is crucial. Learn how to best market your products and services before starting the business. Calculate marketing costs and factor them into your budget to make sure you will have enough money to start the business properly.
